We promote, within caring environments, opportunities that nurture personal growth, improve self esteem, support community inclusion, and advance the independence of those served.

MDS serves approximately 650 people from birth through senior citizens with a full continuum of services customized to meet needs and assist  each person in living as independently as possible. The agency operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day, employing approximately 375 people.

A Great Job!

On Thursday, July 14, an award ceremony was held to honor individuals employed through SPEC-TRA Enterprises who have demonstrated their commitment and achievements by working at their jobs for 5 or more years. Twenty-two people were honored, with their work-time ranging from 5 years to an impressive 26 years (so far)! It was a “job well done!” for all!

Three New Directors Join MDS Board – Here’s the story you can put with it and get rid of the stuff underneath their photos.

Marna Lake, Fred Burmeister and Joseph Warner are the newest members of the Mesa Developmental Services Board of Directors, replacing term limited Directors Doralyn Genova, Shari Sjerven and Mark Hermundstad.

Lake is an attorney in private practice and a Municipal Judge for the Town of Palisade. Burmeister retired as an administrator with the Grand Junction Regional Center after 30 years of service and is currently a realtor with Heiden Homes. Warner is a marketing consultant. They will serve three year terms.

The Mesa Developmental Services Board currently has 15 Directors offering a broad range of professional skills and experiences, including a consumer and two family members of people in services. The Board is responsible for strategic planning, financials, setting policy, monitoring operations, and overseeing/supporting the CEO.
